We know that as parents you often wonder exactly what your child is learning in school. Students frequently "forget" what they've done or may just not want to be conversational after a long day at school. Here are some of the concepts being taught at this time:
MATH:
Number recognition, counting orally, sorting, graphing
READING:
Matching uppercase letters to lowercase letters, sight words, predicting words based on context, genre, and retelling.
WRITING:
Drawing a picture for a story (quick sketch), labeling, stretching out words to hear their sounds, writing sentences with familiar words, matching writing to a picture.
HANDWRITING:
Frog Jump Letters: E,F,P,D,B,R,N and numbers 1,2,3.
SOCIAL STUDIES: Holidays (Thanksgiving), mapping, past and present
SCIENCE:
Sorting materials
